Buying A Business Vat
How difficult is it to set up a business buying goods in UK and selling in Spain. such as VAT and import etc?
I want to set up a small business that entails buying quality goods in the UK and selling them in a shop in Spain.
How difficult is it to sort out all the VAT and import / export requirements?
You may need an advisor – probably in Spain. The VAt rules mean that the shop can buy without VAT from the UK but will probably have to register for VAT in Spain. There is no “import/export” between EU countries – all are in the same duty regime. There is, instead, what are called acquisitions and dispatches.
